In the latest episode of Business Pulse AI, I had the honor of hosting Miri Rodriguez. She is the CEO of Empresa AI and also serves as a Senior Storyteller at Microsoft. Miri is a passionate advocate for women in technology. Our conversation was both inspiring and eye-opening. We explored the transformative potential of AI. We discussed the challenges women face in the tech industry. There’s an urgent need for inclusive opportunities.

Miri’s journey into tech spans over 20 years. She started in sales operations at Motorola. Her path eventually led her to Microsoft, where she has been instrumental in creating inclusive opportunities for women. Her experiences highlight the systemic challenges women face in tech. These challenges include trust issues, competition, and limited access to funding. This issue is especially prevalent in regions like Latin America.

Despite these challenges, Miri has dedicated herself to empowering women through mentorship and education. She has created her platform Empresa AI. This groundbreaking initiative is powered by AI to connect women, share wisdom, and monetize expertise.
AI as an Equalizer
AI can serve as an equalizer in the tech industry. This was one of the most compelling parts of our discussion. Miri emphasized that women are adopting AI technologies at a lower rate than men. This is due to trust issues and misconceptions about authenticity. However, there’s enormous potential for AI to uplift women. AI can automate repetitive tasks and enable them to focus on higher-value work.

Miri also highlighted the systemic issues surrounding algorithmic justice and gender parity. Empresa AI tackles these challenges head-on. It creates a space where women can share their experiences. Women can gain mentorship and access educational resources tailored to their unique needs.

She mentioned Honduras emerging as a hub for skilling programs. These programs enable women across industries to learn tech skills. They help women advance their careers despite cultural barriers.
